Daily Journal August 3, 1998, By-William Thomas Thompson. Psalms 30-5 "For my anger endureth but a moment Joy cometh" At the 7 a.m. bark of the dog Boo Boo, I was up on my way down the stairs to continue writing the journal of today’s events and how I feel about things. As I wade through my office of papers to reach my number two Cannon Starwriter with the big screen all for $199.00. My first subject today is about our great slave statesmen Thomas Jefferson buried at Monticello, Virginia and now buried no longer as they are digging up his bones for DNA testing. It seems that like Clinton, he may have had an affair with a black slave girl and now the family wants to share the graveyard. Jefferson who is said to have owned slaves until his death may be proven daddy of more than the Declaration of Independences from jolly old bloody Britain. Great Britain was master of slave nations. The lucky ones that made it here escaped worse than death in most of the continent of Africa. We never know how the terrible things will turn out. I have been trying to catch up with Marc all morning to get a battery changed in that smoke alarm outside their apartment door. I put the ladder in place and carefully put a fresh battery on the step right in front of his eyes when he comes out as a hint to please change this squealing thing. I realized just now that the three I see in the storage closet are from the apartment. With no batteries, he jerks them down when they beep and has never been known to fix one on his own. I must slip the recharged one in and hide them in high places to protect the precious ones while they are asleep. It must be awful to live a negative life and never do any service for mankind. I cannot imagine a man too lazy to walk the dogs. I must write what I see and if it offends then let it. I can only walk one way in life’s journey of hope and of trust in a God that is the one and only God Almighty, Lord God my savior. Let me speak O Dear Lord through this outlet of communication. We go as in went again too often to the convenient Catteran Buffet for not so quick a lunch at 1 p.m. to watch the food trays go by. All the rush and push and shove to get in and out behind all of those desperate people with all that high blood pressure manifested by all those big wide red faces pushing so impatiently in the race to get it up and to get it down. A-The butter beans were not the kind I like today and those large beautiful boiled potatoes were cooked in hot pepper. The fried chicken had no legs. The cooked cabbage and ripe tomatoes were very good. I watched as people dug into the macaroni pie and carried bowls of ice cream across the restaurant and all ate vigorously like it was their last meal. It may for some be. All the talk was loud like daggers to my ears. I see a different thing coming as eternity unfolds and reveals the near future of the end of this day of God's grace to all mankind. Psalms 30-6"And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved" I have been chosen for many things that I wish would go away. The phone rings all day with the deals if you will lend an ear. This interferes with my work and is another trial of my faith. People who have to sell something need a lesson in true values in life. Tonight NBC Dateline showed that American business is more and more doing business in nude bars to get the big ones signed. "Men are saying this lets them compete with the women now in sales as they can accommodate their male clients in a way they cannot do".
